No budget, no photo!
Zelfs kledingmerk Mexx wil niet meer voor foto's betalen. Onderstaand citaat komt uit een mailtje dat fotojournalist Thomas Schlijper vandaag ontving:
"Dear Thomas,
I am writing an article about (...) and wondered whether it would be possible to use any of the 3 photos on your site to accompany my text. (... ) Unfortunately (and I’m sure you’ve heard this before), there is no photography budget, although we will of course provide a credit by the photo, and send you a copy of the magazine in which the article appears.
The magazine is about having fun in the city, and will be distributed internationally to customers of the clothing brand Mexx.
I would be very grateful if you are prepared to allow one of your photos to be used in this way (...)"
Het antwoord aan Mexx kwam per ommegaande post: no budget, no photo.
